Beverly Hills residents can catch a free outdoor performance of Macbeth, watch kids race soapbox derby cars at the Farmers' Market, or dance at a luau in July as the city rolls out its annual Parks Make Life Better Month programming across Roxbury Park, Beverly Gardens Park, and other public spaces.

The city's Community Services Department, led by Recreation Services Manager Michael Muse, has scheduled events running through Wednesday, July 29, according to the city's official events page. Most are free.

Shakespeare under the stars

Shakespeare by the Sea, the Los Angeles-based outdoor theater company, brings its 2026 production of Macbeth to Roxbury Park on Wednesday, July 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free. The city encourages attendees to bring blankets, chairs, and a picnic.

Senior Luau Dance

The Beverly Hills Active Adult Club hosts a Senior Luau Dance on Monday, July 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Roxbury Park Community Center. The event is open to adults 55 and older. Club membership is available for a fee and includes invitations to all BHAAC activities throughout the year.

Miniature Derby Car Race

Youth and teens can race soapbox derby cars at the Beverly Hills Farmers' Market on Sunday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registered participants get a head start on Friday, July 24, at Roxbury Park, where they can purchase a kit to assemble, paint, and design their cars before race day.

Family Bingo

Family Bingo takes over Roxbury Park Community Center on Thursday, July 10, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event is open to all ages and includes light snacks.

Festival Beverly Hills

The annual Festival Beverly Hills returns to Beverly Gardens Park on Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Dog owners and tennis players, too

The Yappy Hour Pawsitive Park Etiquette Class runs Wednesday, July 15, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Beverly Hills Community Dog Park, 344 Foothill Road. Only 15 spots are available at $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents; advance online registration is required.

The month wraps with Game On! Court Celebration, which the city calls its first combined tennis and pickleball event, on Wednesday, July 29, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at La Cienega Tennis Center, 325 S. La Cienega Blvd. All skill levels are welcome.

Library bonus

Residents can also borrow a free California State Park vehicle day-use pass from the Beverly Hills Public Library throughout July.
