Beverly Hills residents can weigh in Tuesday, July 28, on a proposed 62-unit affordable senior housing project planned for city-owned land on South Robertson Boulevard, as the City Council convenes a special public meeting at La Cienega Park Community Center.
The forum runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium at 8400 Gregory Way. City staff and representatives from nonprofit developer West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation will present plans for the Robertson Sunflower project at 327-335 South Robertson Blvd., followed by moderated public comment.
Council members will attend but are not expected to preside. City staff will run the session.
What's proposed
The project would bring 100% affordable senior housing to a 6,000-square-foot retail site the city's Parking Authority bought in November 2019 for $10.1 million. The city originally planned a standalone parking garage there but shelved that idea during the pandemic after determining construction would require acquiring additional adjacent properties.
The project would help Beverly Hills meet state-mandated affordable housing targets set in the city's Housing Element of the General Plan.
On Tuesday, May 19, the Council directed staff to add three levels of subterranean public parking beneath the housing, estimated at 82 spaces, to be built and operated at the city's expense. The 62-unit count remains a working projection, not a final approved number.
The Council approved an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement with WHCHC on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, by a 4-1 vote. Then-Vice Mayor Corman cast the lone dissent. A clarification was added to the record at that meeting: the agreement commits the city to negotiate, not to build low-income housing.
WHCHC, a nonprofit, is conducting due diligence and applying for funding. Beverly Hills previously selected the organization to develop affordable housing at 9268-9298 W. 3rd St. in 2023, but those plans were scrapped after earthquake fault lines were found on that property.

In-person speakers must submit a Speaker Card to the city clerk. Parking for the meeting is available at the 321 South La Cienega Blvd. structure.
