Beverly Hills families can carve, decorate and compete at the city's annual Fall Funtastic Harvest Festival on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Beverly Hills Farmers' Market.

The Beverly Hills Community Services Department is producing the morning festival at 9300 Civic Center Drive, according to the city's event page. Activities run 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The centerpiece is a People's Choice Pumpkin Carving and Decorating Contest. Contestants must bring their already carved or decorated pumpkins to the market by 9 a.m. The pumpkins stay on display until 11:30 a.m., and market shoppers vote for their favorite by dropping a candy corn into the box beside their pick. Winners will be announced at 11:45 a.m.

The contest is billed as an annual tradition. Registration is available through the city's Community Services events page.

A Halloween costume parade wraps up at the Fall Funtastic Stage at 10:45 a.m. Pacifico Dance Company performs a Día de los Muertos celebration dance at 11 a.m., followed by a Diwali dance performance at noon. The city's events listing also highlights Día de los Muertos altar-making as a hands-on activity.

Other activities running throughout the morning include Trunk or Treat, a pumpkin patch, face painting, hands-on art making, spooky storytelling and a petting zoo. Fresh produce and specialty items from the regular Farmers' Market will also be available.

The event is open to all ages. The city's event page does not list an admission fee.
