Cedars-Sinai will honor HBO Max's "The Pitt" and philanthropists Jaime and Andrew Schwartzberg at its Oct. 11 gala in Burbank.

The hospital announced Wednesday, Sept. 9, that star and executive producer Noah Wyle, executive producer and director John Wells and creator and showrunner R. Scott Gemmill will accept the Hollywood Leadership Award on behalf of the Emmy-winning medical drama at the Board of Governors Sunset Soirée on Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Warner Bros. Studio Lot. The award recognizes the show's portrayal of emergency medicine, Variety reported.

The Schwartzbergs will receive the Philanthropic Leadership Award for decades of service and support of the hospital's mission, Cedars-Sinai said.

Peter L. Slavin, president and CEO of Cedars-Sinai, said the gala celebrates how storytelling and philanthropy can drive change in healthcare. He called the "The Pitt" team's work a way to "shine a light on the importance of lifesaving care and the breakthroughs that make it possible."

The evening is expected to draw more than 750 guests. Proceeds benefit the hospital's Innovation to Impact campaign, a $60 million initiative focused on accelerating early-stage research in children's health, cancer, neurosciences, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic diseases and aging. Single-cell technology is central to the campaign, allowing researchers to study diseased cells individually.

The gala will include a live auction, special presentations and a closing performance by singer-songwriter Andy Grammer. Beverly Hills steakhouse Steak 48 is an event sponsor and will host a pop-up dining experience.

"The Pitt," produced by John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, follows healthcare workers in a Pittsburgh emergency room. The show's second season earned a leading 25 Emmy nominations in July, according to USA Today. Season three returns on HBO Max in January 2027.

Andrew Schwartzberg is one of the nation's leading affordable housing developers, having created and operated more than 25,000 units over two decades, according to his firm Celosia Ventures. He and Jaime Schwartzberg hold ownership stakes in sports franchises including the Charlotte Hornets and Leeds United. ARTnews has listed the couple among its Top 200 Collectors.

Donations to Cedars-Sinai surpassed $200 million at the close of fiscal year 2026. The hospital said it has reached that milestone only three times in 124 years.
