Mayor Craig Corman will lay out Beverly Hills' priorities and challenges before an audience of business leaders, residents, and civic officials at Greystone Mansion on Wednesday, September 23, in the city's annual State of the City Address.
The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce announced the event on Tuesday, July 14. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the evening runs until 7 p.m. at the historic estate at 905 Loma Vista Drive. The evening includes wine, hors d'oeuvres, live music, and networking across the grounds.
The event is open to Chamber members, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, elected officials, and community partners. Registration is required through the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce website. Businesses interested in sponsorship can contact Melissa Case at [email protected].
Since taking office in April, Corman has signaled the themes likely to shape his address. He was sworn in on Tuesday, April 14, alongside Vice Mayor Mary Wells at Beverly Hills High School's K.L. Peters Auditorium. In his inaugural remarks, he pointed to state housing laws that could double or triple Beverly Hills' population over the next two decades and called the coming Metro subway integration both a challenge and an opportunity.
"The question is not whether change — significant change — is coming," Corman said at his swearing-in. "It's what are we going to do about it?"
He announced plans to create a "vibrant new urban core" near the future Metro stations in the city's southeast neighborhood and pledged to implement a new impact fee structure before his one-year term ends. He also launched a "mayor's circuit" outreach initiative, offering to visit groups of neighbors in their homes to discuss any issue important to them.
Corman has been active across the community since April, including presenting proclamations at the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival's 20th anniversary gala at the Saban Theatre on Monday, May 12.
The September 23 gathering marks the Chamber's signature annual civic event, bringing city leadership face-to-face with the business community and residents at one of Beverly Hills' most recognized landmarks. Greystone Mansion, completed in 1928, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated Beverly Hills Local Historic Landmark No. 4 in 2013.
Two days after the State of the City event, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts opens its 2026–27 season with the Joshua Redman Quartet on Friday, September 25.
