A 1939 private residence on South Lasky Drive has a new life as a 44-room boutique hotel, giving Beverly Hills visitors a $325-a-night alternative in a city where flagship hotels routinely charge upward of $1,000 per night, according to the Beverly Hills Courier.

Hôtel Lili, the first Beverly Hills property from independent hotel operator Palisociety, opened in spring 2026 at 140 S. Lasky Drive, tucked directly behind The Peninsula Beverly Hills and steps from Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards. The Courier profiled the opening on Wednesday, June 17.

Palisociety CEO and founder Avi Brosh, a New Jersey native who started building homes in Pacific Palisades more than 30 years ago, said the hotel targets visitors with local business rather than tourists seeking grand opulence.

"If you're a hotelier and you live in Los Angeles, the dream is to have a hotel in Beverly Hills," Brosh told the Courier. "But for us, we only do a very certain kind of hotel. We do things that are a little smaller, a little bit more neighborhood-centric."

Brosh has a personal stake in the neighborhood. He lived in a studio apartment on Spalding Drive in the late 1980s, an experience he said made him feel like "the luckiest person in the world."

What's inside

The hotel has no full-service restaurant. Guests order breakfast, lunch, and evening bites through room service, and a lobby bar open to the public serves martini cocktails and truffle potato chips. The lobby features crimson draperies, soft leather sofas, and offers complimentary lemonade in the afternoons and a glass of Champagne at check-in.

Rooms come stocked with Grind espresso machines, Diptyque bath amenities, and Bellino Fine Linens. Design details include wallpapered ceilings, black-and-white marble-tiled floors, and vintage telephones.

The bigger picture

Palisociety, founded in Los Angeles in 2007, now operates 26 properties nationwide with a heavy West Coast concentration, including locations in Westwood, Brentwood, and two in West Hollywood. Brosh designed and built his first hotel, Palihouse West Hollywood, in 2008; that location is now a Soho House.

Hôtel Lili is also part of a major distribution deal announced June 17. Sixteen of Palisociety's 26 properties have entered agreements to join Marriott's Design Hotels portfolio, the largest single addition in Design Hotels' history, representing more than 1,000 total keys across nine U.S. cities, according to a Marriott International press release. The properties will join Marriott Bonvoy in the coming months, giving loyalty-program members access to the boutique brand for the first time.

Brosh told Skift the deal lets Palisociety "be institutional without losing our soul."
