Beverly Hills residents who want a seat at the table with the Mayor, Police Chief, and Fire Chief can apply starting Monday, July 13 for Team Beverly Hills, the city's civic leadership program now accepting its next class.

The program selects 50 residents and five business community representatives for a six-month series of sessions running October 2026 through March 2027. Participants tour city facilities, hear presentations from elected officials and department heads, and attend networking events before a graduation ceremony.

Of the 50 resident spots, 30 are appointed by the City Council, 18 are chosen by random lottery, and two are selected by the Beverly Hills Unified School District, according to the city's Office of Communications.

More than 800 residents have completed Team Beverly Hills since its founding in 1996, and over 70 percent of all current elected officials and City Commissioners are alumni, the city stated in a July 2025 press release. Past graduates serve on City Commissions, sit on committees, and volunteer at city events and local nonprofits.

The program connects participants with departments including Public Works, Emergency Management, and Public Safety. Sessions include presentations from the City Treasurer, City Clerk, City Attorney, City Manager, and department heads, along with community and education leaders.

The city has not announced a closing date for the 2026-2027 application window. Last year's cycle closed Friday, August 15, 2025.

Keith Sterling, Deputy City Manager, oversees the program from City Hall at 455 N. Rexford Drive. Residents can apply at beverlyhills.org/teambeverlyhills or email [email protected]. Sterling can also be reached at (714) 600-0952.
